Welcome to YEAR NINE, WEEK 12 of 411’s Wrestler of the Week. A quick overview of the rules to kick things off for us as a reminder…

Each writer chooses FIVE wrestlers from any promotion and each wrestler gets a point total attached to that ranking. It looks a little like this…

1st – 5
2nd – 4
3rd – 3
4th – 2
5th – 1

Then we tally up the votes and the official 411 Wrestler of the Week is crowned. But wait, there’s more! Each week the top SIX vote getters get a points value for their ranking which looks something like this…

1st – 15
2nd – 12
3rd – 9
4th – 6
5th – 3
6th – 1

…and they go towards the 411 Wrestler of the Year award to be announced each year around WrestleMania. This will be posted every Tuesday (the voting week runs Monday through Sunday). Let’s see who wins this week…

1) Daniel Bryan
Man, it is so much watching Daniel Bryan. It always has been for various reasons, but lately it has been just so good. Great wrestling, fun TV and crowds that are responding to him like a legit star. Many of us knew that he was a great wrestler, but the fact that he is succeeding is WWE like he is currently shows that sometimes, against all odds and in the land of the giants, the little guys can succeed. Bryan vs. Orton was an awesome match, which Bryan won clean, and more and more he not only looks like a superstar, but is getting booked like one.

2) Austin Aries: Scored a win under the hood (as Suicide) and stole the X-Division title. This was a truly devious act by Aries, who was spectacular in the role and proved that he is one of the greatest men that ever lived.
3) Samoa Joe & Magnus: Samoa Joe & Magnus have jumped out ahead in the BFG Series; as well as the fact that Joe has joined the new Main Event Mafia. Both guys have been booked very well as of late, and it is a good thing to see because I feel that they both deserve it.
4) Jimmy & Jey Uso
5) Christian

1) Daniel Bryan
Is there anybody else? The man continues to impress. No matter WWE throws at him, he hits a home run. Comedy? Done. Serious segments? Done. Wrestling matches? Done. Brawling with weapons? Done. This week, the man made Randy Orton tap out about as cleanly as can be in a street fight to main event Raw. It is going to be VERY interesting to see what he does come Money in the Bank!

2) Christian: Captain Charisma picked up a tag team win on Raw with Sheamus. Later on in the night, he was listed as one of seven participants in the WWE Championship Money in the Bank ladder match. Over on Smackdown, he pinned Dean Ambrose in a six man tag team match. Defeating The Shield is a rarity in 2013, so it deserves mention.
3) Sheamus: Won a tag match on Raw and followed it up with a great Dublin Street Fight victory over Damien Sandow on Smackdown!
4) Randy Orton
5) The Usos

Robert S. Leighty Jr
1) Austin Aries
New X Division Champion as Suicide and then reveals that fact in a great ending to set-up a run with Bully Ray for the TNA Title.

2) Daniel Bryan: The push to the Main Event continues as he makes Orton tap in the middle of the ring.
3) Christian: Continues to be booked strong in his return and I am excited about a feud with Ambrose over the US Title.
4) The Usos
5) Samoa Joe

1) Daniel Bryan
He’s finally proven one of his critics wrong, by making that critic tap out in the middle of the ring. His main event against Orton was not only great, but it might have given the confidence boost that Bryan needs to really shoot himself up into the title picture. MitB is two weeks away, and Bryan could prove himself to be the front runner with more performances like this.

2) The Usos: On RAW, the Usos managed to win the number one contendership to the tag team titles. On Smackdown they assisted Christian on defeating the Shield, something that is quite impressive. It will be interesting see how the Shield will respond to having lost a match to the two guys who are now a threat to their title reign.
3) Christian: Christian’s return has been quite successful. He teamed with Sheamus on RAW, defeating Rhodes Scholars, then pinned Ambrose on Smackdown while teaming with the Usos. Can this momentum last? We’ll have to see.
4) Austin Aries
5) Sheamus

1) Daniel Bryan
Most weeks you can make cases for a lot of guys from around the globe to take the number one position, but this one is really a no brainer. Bryan got the biggest win of his WWE career this week (yes, bigger than his World Title win) by making Randy Orton submit cleanly in the middle of the ring in the main event of Monday Night Raw. With things like this, the follow up is always key, but, at least for the time being, Daniel Bryan is on top of the world.

2) The Usos: I’ve always thought that the Usos were great wrestlers for their level of experience, and it’s good to see them getting their due. They were victorious in a number one contenders’ match on Raw and then again in the main event of Smackdown against the Shield.
3) Suwama: In the biggest Japanese match of the week, Suwama retained the All Japan Triple Crown against veteran Jun Akiyama.
4) Shuji Ishikawa
5) Natalya

Craig Stevens
1) Daniel Bryan
Had another fantastic match in his recent series with Randy Orton, and got the submission right in the middle of the ring for his biggest victory to date. Heading into Money in the Bank, not only is he NOT the weak link, but he’s got to be considered the favorite to take the case.

2) Austin Aries: Posed as Suicide to win the X-Division Title and set himself up for another shot at the World Title at Destination X.
3) Christian and The Usos: Managed to defeat in the Shield in six-man tag action, and set themselves up as strong challengers for the US and Tag Team Championships.
4) Suwama
5) Magnus

James Wright
1) Daniel Bryan
I was split between Aries and Bryan and in some ways perhaps Aries’ achievements sound more impressive this week, but really in context a clean submission win after a great match over Randy Orton is a huge nod of approval for a guy who no one, including himself, really gave a chance to when coming into the WWE.

2) Austin Aries: Winning the X Division title in sneaky fashion and then making his intentions clear to challenge Bully Ray kind of came out of nowhere this week. The only real question is where will this lead? This is TNA, there are no guarentees.
3) The Usos: Becoming the number one contenders on Raw and beating the Shield in a six man tag on Smackdown put the Usos pretty high up in the tag team division, although that is not very hard at this point.
4) Christian
5) Samoa Joe

Michael Ornelas
1) Daniel Bryan
Didn’t just beat Randy Orton, but made him tap out in an intense brawl on Raw. The man is OVER. And if Vince doesn’t think he draws, Daniel Bryan is literally the top reason I spend money on WWE, so he has at least drawn me.

2) Austin Aries: The crowned jewel of TNA made himself main event relevant again. I’m looking forward to seeing where this goes.
3) The Usos: They’re more important now that they’ve been in their entire careers. Very good team that I hope gets the proper outlet to shine, but not at the expense of The Shield (in other words, don’t expect them to dethrone them).
4) Christian
5) Suwama
